Surgery is not happening today, he was supposed to have a 2nd CT scan this afternoon...
UPDATE:
Ron did NOT have a2nd CT scan, they scoped him. he has gastritis (inflammation) "DUH! he has been vomiting, and had a Tube down his esophagus and into his stomach." (I said in my mind---sometimes Hospital staff totally baffle me, remember I am a healthcare professional, so i know this stuff, and anatomy)
So I said to the nurse, "so, he has gastritis AND a blockage?"
answer: "I don't know, I guess"

answer: "I don't know, I guess"
me: I thought he had a blockage
answer: "yes"
me: ok, but you just said you didn't know
answer: "we won;'t know for sure til all the tests are done, and the gastro doc and surgeon consult with one another"
me: what other tests are they doing?
answer: "a colonoscopy tomorrow morning"
me: the blockage is in the early part of his small bowel, a colonoscopy only reaches to the end of the large bowel.
answer: "right"
me: Ok, you are now officially confusing me, I am calling his doctor.
answer: "ok"
me: My husband would like some watermelon, watermelon becomes liquid, so can he have some?
answer: "sure"
me: does he still have the NG tube in? As i know that could cause swallowing issues, I won't bring Watermelon, if the tube is still in.
answer: "yes you are right about the swallowing, but the tube is out."
This nurse is off duty at 7pm...Thank the Universe!
OK...so I am going to spend the rest of the day at Ron's bedside, with some watermelon!
Thank you again for all your continued support and I will keep you all updated.
